Manish Gupta murder case left UP Police "Red Faced"

Kanpur:  Murder of Kanpur based businessman Manish Gupta in Gorakhpur allegedly by the Uttar Pradesh cops has left the UP government led by the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath "Red Faced" in the poll bound state. It is not just a single case as the police has several such incidents to its " discredit" exposing its  and barbaric face.

The CM Yogi Adityanath, after meeting the bereaved family and wife of Manish Gupta, though tried to give strong message to the police and in turn the people of the state bye warning the cops for dismissal from job on finding serious offences against them.
Amid strong criticism from all corners regarding the law and order, Yogi Adityanath  strictly stated that any illegal activities by police personnel would not tolerated at any cost and orders for dismissal of the six piace personnel in question.

To pacify the  bereaved family and the window of Manish Gupta, the CM assured government job to the wife of the deceased businessman and compensation of more than Rs 10 lakh.

The CM also issued instructions to the authorities concerned to create post of OSD in Kanpur Development Authority for Meenakshi Gupta, widow of businessman Manish Gupta who died during police raid at a hotel in Gorakhpur of UP on September 27-28.

Apparently satisfied with assurances given by the Chief Minister Meenakshi Gupta said that the chief minister Ash gourd her that the government will be the cost of her sons education and transfer the case from Gorakhpur to Kanpur


Meanwhile postmortem report of Manish Gupta states that he died due to lynching the postmortem report also revealed that the body of Manish Gupta had marks of several serious wounds while beating Mr Gupta the police crossed its all limits and in due course Manish Gupta receive severe head as well as muscular injuries.

Trying to save its skin police however narrated some different tail and stated that Manish Gupta
received a head injury after he fell on the ground as he was drunk and later died

Murder case against six cops Manhunt launched to arrest them

Later a case was registered against six policemen under Section 302 murder of the Indian Penal Code. Massive manhunt began to nab them.

Those booked include Phalmandi Police post in-charge Akshay Mishra, J N Singh, sub inspector Vijay Yadav and others.The policemen have been suspended

The then Police Superintendent of Mahoba Mani Lal Patidar was suspended in connection with murder of a businessman Indrakant Tripathi last year. The IPS officer was absconding since a case was lodged against four people including him at the concerned police station. A conspiracy was hatched to kill the Businessman following a viral video in which he had alleged that the then SP of Mahoba Mani Lal Patidar was demanding extortion of rupees 5 lakh per month from him and was threatening to kill him if he failed to to do so.
The SP is absconding since then.

Similarly murder of Vivek Tiwari area manager of Apple company by the bullets of UP Police in 2018 had drone wide criticism
The government constituted s i t to prove the incident judicial enquiry was also set up for impartial probe but nothing concrete emerged so far

The encounter of Vikas Dubey and his gang men in 2020 had also raised fingers at the modus operandi of the U P Police

The brutal rape case of Hathras in 2020 was an eye opener as the judiciary  made adverse remarks against the U P Police. While hearing the case recently ,the judges  observed in presence of the DGP of Uttar Pradesh Police that the U P Police seems to plant arms and do not investigate properly into the cases .
