Lucknow: Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Petroleum and Natural Gass Hardeep Singh Puri has assured for revival of Haridwar based historical Gurudwara Gyan Godri Sahib, to construct a National memorial of Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib near Gurudwara Dukkh Niwaran Sahib, Guru Ka Taal in Agra and renaming of National Highway 2 in the name of Maata Goojar Kaur, mother of Guru Govind Singh.
While talking to The Vibrant News ,Uttar Pradesh Minority Commission senior member Sardar Parvindar Singh said that a six membered delegation of Sikkh led by him called on Mr Puri in New Delhi and requested him to look into their demands and concede them.
During the meeting Mr Singh apprised Mr Puri with the historical and religious importance of Gurudwara Gyan Godri Sahib and requested him to revive it in view of the religious sentiments of the Sikkh community attached with it.
Outlining the actual and factual position of it, Mr Singh said that the delegation apprised the Union Minister that the land of the said Gurudwara is of Uttar Pradesh ( UP) government which was now in the co tell of Uttarakhand government.
Mr Singh told The Vibrant News that UP CM Yogi Adityanath is serious on the issue and had had also assured to take up the issue with his Uttarakhand counterpart Pushkar Dhami for early disposal of the matter.
He further said that the Sikkh community of UP has already met Mr Dhami for its early disposal.
Mr Singh said that the delegation requested Mr Puri to hold dialogue with the government of both the states for revival of the state Gurudwara.
Mr Singh told The Vibrant News that the area of the said Gurudwara was incorporated for the development of Har ki Paidi where now scout and guide office of Uttarakhand government was running.
The delegation that met Mr Puri also urged him to facilitate handing over the said Gurudwara to the Sikh community.
Mr Singh said that they also requested the Union Minister to initiate efforts for naming the Lucknow Agra expressway in the name of Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib
Meanwhile BJP regional Secretary General of the Minority Front of Brij area Banti Grover , while talking to this media informed that the delegation also requested the Union Minister for construction of National memorial of Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib near Gurudwara Dukkh Niwaran Sahib, Guru Ka Taal in Agra and get it declared as a conserved area.
He further said that the delegation also urged Mr Puri to rename the National Highway 2 in the name of Maata Goojar Kaur, mother of Guru Govind Singh.
Besides Mr Singh and Mr Grover, the delegation included Sevadar of Gurudwara Guru ka Taal Agra, Baba Gurnam Singh, Kanpur Regional President of BJP Minority Front Sardar Ajit, Regional President Gurpreet Singh and Jaskaran Singh.
