Present government keeps everything secret, thinks covertly, and then presents a Bill to Parliament without taking the Opposition into confidence and gets it passed.
New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahai alleged that the Central government introduced and passed the bills by taking the Parliament into hostage and without taking the opposition into confidence.
Mr. Sahai stated that the government appears to be in a perpetual rush since it has anticipated that it will not win any other elections in the near future. Its in a rush to make its covert agenda and ideology lawful.
The Modi government rushed through the Electoral Reforms Bill without discussion or taking the Opposition into confidence, revealing the hidden agenda.
Mr. Sahai stated that Narendra Modis governments attitude toward the country appears to be one of neglect. The anti-farmer bill was likewise introduced in a rush without consulting farmers following which it had to be repealed. The current Electoral Reforms Bill is also tantamount to trespassing on the sentiment of the Indian people.
The Congress leader said that in case the government wanted to make a law, it should have first brought it into the public domain and discuss it in public to know the opinion both positive and negative. He said that earlier the Congress government used to seek the opinion argue in the Parliament before passage of any bill in the House.

Instead of focusing on electoral profit and loss, I will urge the government to focus on identifying the genuine problems, he added.
