Ranchi: According to Subodh Kant Sahai, a senior Congress leader and former Union Minister for Home Affairs, Lord Chitragupta emerged on this day and is very important in Hinduism. Lord Chitragupta, the presiding deity of Kayastha community is also worshipped today.
Subodh Kant Sahay, speaking to the media and providing a precise shape to the story about Lord Shri Chitraguptas birth, described how Lord Chitragupta was born. Taking the conversation forward, Subodh Kant stated that when Brahma created the universe, he also created all the Gods, asuras, gandharvas, apsaras, men and women, animals, and birds. Yamraj, also known as Dharmaraja, was born as a result of this. He was given the authority to punish all living beings for their actions. Then he requested a skillful ally from Brahma. Then after 1000 years the divine person Lord Chitragupta appeared from the body (Kaya) of Brahma . Chitragupta was given the name Kayastha because he was born from Brahmas body (Kaya).
He holds a pen, dawat, karwal and book in his arms. He keeps a record of the life and death of all living beings. Based on that Yamraj punishes or gives justice to them. Lord Chitragupta and Yamraj are worshiped on Yama Dwitiya or Kartik Shukla Dwitiya Tithi. With his blessings one does not have to suffer in hell for bad deeds.
Former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay elaborated on the topic, saying, "Today is a good day for all of us; today we are celebrating Lord Hanuman Jayanti." Today we are celebrating the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman, the supreme devotee of Lord Shri Ramchandra. Anjanis son Mahavir Hanuman was born on the full moon day of Chaitra.
