Padyatra to be taken up to know the real issues of the people

If needed, a political party will be launched in future

The political party will not be Prashant Kishors party, but will be a peoples party

Patna:  The renowned poll strategist Prashant Kishore, popular as PK announced to embark on Padyatra from October 2 from Champaran in Bihar from where Mahatma Gandhi had kicked off his "Satyagrah" movement against British regime.

Amid intense speculations on
launching of new political party by him, Kishor refuted all such possibilities at the moment and told media persons on Thursday that he would embark on 3000 KMs long Padyatra (march) to know the real issues of the people before taking a call on launching of a new political party.

Kishor said that during padyatra he would directly interact with people of all class and sections of the society to know their problems and real issues. He, however has prepared a database of more than 17,000 people from all walks of life to seek their views on problems being faced by people of the state and their solution. They all were unanimous in view that a collective approach and efforts were needed to work with spirit of  "Jan Suraj" for development of Bihar, he added.

Speaking about the backwardness of Bihar, Kishor said that the state, for the last 30 years was in the hands of two seasoned leaders - Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD president Lalu Prasad. Despite both remaining at the helm of affairs in last 30 years, Bihar was at the bottom of all states of the country in various development parameters, he lamented. Even NITI Aayog in its several reports exposed the pathetic condition of the state.

The NITI Aayogs report could not be dismissed as a resul of political vendetta as the NDA government was in power in Bihar and at the Centre, he added.

Referring to the comments of Nitish Kumar about NITI Ayog report who had stated that the NITI Ayog was not aware of ground realities of the state, Kishor said if NITI Aayog was not aware, people of Bihar were definitely aware of the grim scenario in the state from where people in large number have migrated to other parts of the country to earn their livelihood.

Replying to queries, the poll strategist said during interaction with the people , if an opinion for launching a political party emerged, he would definitely launch it.

Kishor who had made similar attempt in February 2020 but suspended the move due to Corona pandemic maintained that he has given up the profession of preparing and fine tuning strategies for political parties to contest elections and added that he would devote his time in Bihar as political activist and would work with a new vision and vigour for making a better Bihar.

Dismissing the apprehensions over his success in politics, Kishor said that the  people in the state had earlier voted beyond caste lines. Had the people voted on caste lines, in 2014 and 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not have garnered so much support as the population of the caste to which Modi belong is very small here.

Responding to a query on RJD chief Lalu Prasad and leader of the opposition Tejaswi Prasad Yadav, not taking any notice of him, Kishor said he was not so great that such leaders would comment about him.

The poll strategist said that by preparing strategies for political parties to contest elections, he was aware of the nitty gritty of contesting elections.

For his new inning, Kishor reiterated to seek support from all sections of the society for political intervention to make Bihar, a better state.

Explaining the reason for his talks with the Congress reaching a dead-end, Kishor said he had given a power point presentation before top leaders of Congress for revival of the party which was highly appreciated. The Congress leadership wanted him to be a member of Empowered Action Group (EAG) to implement it, said Kishore adding he did not like the offer as the member of the EAG would not have the authority to implement it.

Describing his march proposed to start from October 2 as a part of his mission to bring "nayi soch, naya prayas (new thinking, new effort)" in Bihar, Kishor said there are no elections in the near future in the state and floating a political party was not part of his plan as of now.

Kishor said in case he decide in future to launch a political party, it will not be Prashant Kishors party, but will be a peoples party.

Speaking about his tuning with Nitish Kumar, Kishor said he had personal relationship Nitish Kumar but working together and agreeing is different. Describing Nitish Kumar as his fatherly figure, Kishor said it doesnt mean he cannot have a separate political journey.
