Guna ( Madhya Pradesh): With the sole mission of overall development of the girl students, the government has introduced the new education policy with provisions of imparting skill oriented training programmes so that they can get employment from the very first year of their education.


Addressing the seven day long Handicraft training camp in Shasakiya Snatakottar (Post graduation) Mahavidyalay (College) -Guna , the Principal Dr B. K. Tiwari said that in order to attain the goal set under the mission, the new skill development programme has been launched which would help in overall progress of the students.


 Highlighting the importance of StartUps , the Principal said that such camps and programmes would also facilitate the students for taking up their StartUps.


Dr Tiwari said that such camps help in personality development of students hence its importance can be gauged easily.


Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Chairperson Dr Niranjan Shrotriya said that under the new education policy, the students, along with traditional education were also getting specialised training for employment oriented education .This would help them in establishing their venture, he emphasised.


The Programme Moderater Mrs Sonu Jain , Assistant Professor Department of History and NSS Students girls Unit Incharge of the College threw light upon various forms of art and employment oriented traning programmes taken up in the camp saying that the students would be imparted training for various skills and handicraft which would open new vistas for them. They would be skilled to such an extent that they can earn their livelihood even by staying at their home.


She said that the handicraft items were high in demand in foreign countries and with the specialised skills, the probability of getting good and lucrative employment becomes high for the girl students. Apart from this, they can also impart handicraft and other skill trainings in the schools and at other institutions, she maintained.


In the seven days camp likely to be concluded on July 11, the students were being trained of various art forms and handicraft including macramart, sutli work, rakhi making, bundhage, ceramic work, flower making and others, informed Mrs Jain.
