Amit Shah to attend the birth anniversary of Swami Sahjanand Saraswati on 22nd Feb in Bihar

Patna:  Asking Bihar Bihar Government to hand over Bihta Bajaar Samiti land to Narendra Modi government for establishing a Farmers centre in the name of Swami Sahjanand Saraswati, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Thakur said that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah would attend the Kisan Mazdoor Samagam on February 22nd, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the great peasant leader.

Mr Thakur, Convenor of Kisan Majdoor Samagam, said that the samagam is being organised as a mark of respect towards Swamiji and to hold a direct dialogue with the farmers and labourers.

Bihta, the "Karmabhoomi" of Swamiji,
who had established Kisan Sabha in the year 1927, the Centre from where he pioneered the peasants movement, Bihar government should hand over the land of the moribund Bihta Bazar Samiti to the centre for establishing farmers centre, a one stop solution to the problems of farmers.

He also asked the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to change the nomenclature of Bihta as Swami Sahajanand Saraswati Nagar in the manner in which Noida has been changed to Gautam Buddha Nagar.

Accusing Bihar government for not according due recognition to Swamiji either by organising any state function or giving him a place in governments diary or calendar to commemorate him, Mr Thakur said that, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on the occasion would give a message to the farmers of Bihar and the country that the Modi government cares for farmers and wherever injustice will be done, the Centre stands strongly with farmers.

Mr. Thakur categorically cleared that no self proclaimed pseudo farmer leaders would get any opportunity to draw political mileage by using the event in their personal political interest. Only the actual issues of the farmers would be discussed in detail for a realistic solution.

Hitting out at Bihar government for ignoring ‘farmers issues’ the BJP MP said that the farmers of Bihar have been neglected by all previous governments in the state and the way farmers were being treated by the Grand Alliance government was a matter of grave concern. Nitish Kumar during his ongoing Samadhan Yatra did not even bother to meet the aggrieved farmers in Buxar, he pointed out saying that it seems that the farmers do not even exist for the chief minister and their situation also does not bother him.

Describing Narendra Modi as a real doer for farmers , he said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched several schemes for the welfare and socio-economic development of the class.

Describing Swami Sahajanand Saraswati as a social reformer like Swami Dayanand and Swami Vivekanand, Mr Thakur said it is unfortunate that his contributions have not been discussed anywhere in modern history.

The BJP leader further said that the freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose who had once sought help from Swamiji, had said that "I saw Khadi clad many Sanyasis in Sabarmati Ashram but the real Sanyasi was in Sitaram Ashram of Bihta in Patna".
