President appoints 13 Governors



New Delhi: In a major development, the President Draupadi Murmu accepted the resignation of Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Lt. Governor of Ladakh Radha Krishnan Mathur and appointed 13 Governors.

Official sources close to the Presidents house said here on Sunday that as per the decision Lt. General Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retired) has been appointed as Governor of Arunachal Pradesh.

The other appointments are as follows -

Lakshman Prasad Acharya has been appointed as Governor of Sikkim, C.P. Radhakrishnan as Governor of Jharkhand, Shiv Pratap Shukla as Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Gulab Chand Kataria as Governor of Assam, Justice (Retd.) S. Abdul Nazeer as Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, Governor of Andhra Pradesh appointed as Governor of Chhattisgarh, Anusuiya Uikye, Governor of Chhattisgarh appointed as Governor of Manipur, La. Ganesan, Governor of Manipur appointed as Governor of Nagaland, Phagu Chauhan, Governor of Bihar appointed as Governor of Meghalaya, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Governor of Himachal Pradesh appointed as Governor of Bihar, Ramesh Bais, Governor of Jharkhand appointed as Governor of Maharashtra and Brig. (Dr.) Shri B.D. Mishra (Retd.), Governor of Arunachal Pradesh appointed as Lt. Governor of Ladakh.

Meanwhile political pundits close to the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) feel that in view of Mr Koshyaris hold in Uttarakhand, the party may felicitate him with some important post in near future.
