New Delhi : Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) welcomed the orders of the Supreme Court permitting the Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP to use the partys clock symbol for the upcoming Parliamentary and Maharashtra State elections.

Hailing the courts order, National media coordinator and National Executive special invitee member of NCP Professor Navin Kumar said here on Tuesday that the court has imposed certain conditions while allowing Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP to use the partys clock symbol for the upcoming Parliamentary and Maharashtra State elections.

He said to comply with the courts order, the Ajit Pawar faction while using the symbol will be issuing public notice saying that the allocation was subject to the apex courts final say on the matter. The party will incorporate the disclaimer in every template, advertisement and audio and video clips, as per the direction of the court.

The Court also ordered the ECI to recognise the Sharad Pawar faction of the NCP, and allow it to contest the upcoming polls with the symbol of a man blowing a trumpet.

The court passed the interim order while hearing a petition filed by Sharad Pawar faction challenging ECIs decision which granted the clock party symbol to Ajit Pawar faction and recognising his group of MLAs as the real NCP.

Prof. Kumar said that the Apex court order would further boost the spirit of the party workers. The party would come forward with flying colours in the Lok Sabha elections, he claimed.
