Abudhabi: Mumbai Indians won the first match in the phase two of the Indian Premier League (IPL) match defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 6 wickets at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi in United Arab Emirates (UAE). 

Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bowl. Punjab kings scored 135 runs in the first inning. KL Rahul , Aiden Markram, Deepak Hooda scored 21 , 42 and 28 runs respectively. 

In the chase of 136 runs, Mumbai Indians(MI) middle order players had a valuable innings as Saurabh Tiwary, Hardik Pandya scored 45 and 40 runs respectively. 
The man of the match award was specified to Kieron Pollard for taking 2 crucial wickets and scoring 15 runs in 7 balls.
