Rajgir : Vice President Venkaiah Naidu will be offered with Nalanda Angvastram to mark his welcome during Religious "Dhamm " Conclave in Nalanda International University on Sunday.
Nalanda Angavastram has been made by the weavers of Nepura, located near Nalanda under the Nalanda Memorial Foundation and it is for the first time, 800 years after the demolition of the ancient Nalanda University, it will be offered to a VIP guest.
Made on white Tasar silk the Nalanda Angavastram is attractive in its look and in the first phase 500 such pieces has been prepared.
Chairman of the foundation Neeraj Kumar, exhibiting the Nalanda Angavastram claimed that it is the first-ever innovative step in the country.
The VVIPs including vice president M Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of Nepal Nand Bahadur Pun, Bihar Governor Phagu Chauhan, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Minister of State for External Affairs Minakshi Lekhi, Chancellor of Nalanda International University Dr Vijay Bhatkar and other guests will be be honoured with the Nalanda Angvastram.
Mr Neeraj said that weaver Vijaykumar Tanti has made the Nalanda Angavastram on three Handlooms. On the both ends of this Angavastram the ruins of ancient Nalanda University has been depicted he said adding that the beautiful Nalanda Angavastram has immense potential for cultural branding of Nalanda in Buddhist Nations as well as in other educational institutions of Nalanda.
He said that the Classic Bawan Booti sarees prepared at Ne pura is popular in foreign countries, similarly Nalanda Angavastram would also be high in demand with unique identity among intellectuals especially is spread in Buddhist Nations.
This innovative step of the Nalanda Memorial Foundation would certainly open new vistas for rural employment connecting it with Indian culture and tradition.
Honouring the guests with Nalanda Angavastram would help in reviving the glorious era of ancient Nalanda University at international national and educational field and would emerge as a brand at International platform l, he claimed adding that this would also boost the make in India mission.
