CM Nitish Kumar directs for inquiry into the incident
Bhagalpur: Over 14 people were killed and several others were injured in a huge explosion in a building in Kajwalichak locality in Bhagalpur district on Thursday night.
The explosion was so powerful that the a three storey building collapsed in no time and two nearby buildings also got damaged, said the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Bhagalpur range Sujeet Kumar. The rescue operation immediately began.
A Forensic Science Lab (FSL) team collected samples for forensic testing.
DIG said that preliminary investigation indicate that the building was being used for some illegal manufacturing and crude bombs.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his tweet expressed his deep shock over the loss of lives in the incident
Wishing early recovery of those injured in the incident, the PM talked to the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over telephone about the situation.
The Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also expressed his deep shock over the incident and directed Chief Secretary and DGP to i quite into the incident. He also directed to make all arrangements for treatment of those injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, those injured were rushed to hospital were condition of some of them is stated to be critical.
