Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh (UP) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has assured to connect the adjoining districts of Lucknow for their expansion and development on the pattern of the New Capital Region (NCR).
Taking serious cognizance of the letter of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the CM gave the assurance under which, keeping in mind the population of Lucknow, its adjoining areas and districts would get Metropolitan facilities for their development and expansion on the pattern of NCR.
General Secretary of Gomtinagar Jankalyaan Mahasamiti, Dr Raghvendra Shukla said here on Friday that the CM has instructed to execute the proposals mentioned by the Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh in his letter.
Dr Shukla said that during the annual function of Mahasamiti, a letter was handed over to Mr Rajnath Singh with a demand for connecting the adjoining districts of Lucknow including Sitapur, Hardoi, Unnav, Raibareli, Sultanpur, Barabanki for development and expansion on the pattern of NCR and also to check the migration.
He said that Geographically, Lucknow is small in area and its population is also 54 lakh. If the adjoining districts were connected, not only Lucknow but other areas would develop too. Above all, the population pressure in Lucknow due to migration could also be tackled, he added.
Dr Shukla said that realising the need and in view of the viability of the demand, the Defence Minister immediately forwarded the letter to the CM Yogi Adityanath for early decision.
