Eco-Mine Tourism , an initiative to educate the society about Coal mines and mining processes



Nagpur: With an aim to promote Eco- Mine Tourism, the Western Coal Field Limited (WCL) has signed an MoU with the Directorate of Tourism.

WCL source informed that Eco-Mine Tourism was an initiative to educate students and the society about the Coal mines, mining processes in an interesting manner. The entire initiative has been designed in such a manner that the visitors specially students will enjoy it along with getting practical knowledge of mining at the same time. 

The tourists will be visiting coal mines including Saoner Underground Mine, Gondegaon Mine, Adasa Open Cast Mine, Adasa Temple and Mahatma Gandhi Eco Park at Saoner. 
 
The entire effort is to disseminate knowledge about Coal mining, making the process simple and purposeful for the visitors. 

The MoU was signed by CMD, WCL, Manoj Kumar and Milind Borikar IAS, Director, Directorate of Tourism at a function held in Mumbai, to commemorate World Tourism Day, will be valid for a period of 5 years. 

As per the MoU, Directorate of Tourism and their associated offices will be responsible for booking of the tourists. 

With this MoU, the students, experts and general audience interested in coal mining will get an opportunity to understand Coal Mines, mining operations and its various aspects in a simple and engaging way.
