Real-time Data Buses of State Transport Corporation being updated, online facilities easing travel for citizens
UP Govt ensures seamless transport facilities to citizens through technology
Lucknow: To provide seamless transport facilities to the citizens, the Uttar Pradesh government is utilising technology. The new Android-based electronic ticket system in the buses of the state Transport Corporation has not only ensured convenience for the people of the state but also has enabled real-time monitoring of the buses.
In pursuance of the directives issued by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the State Transport Department is dedicatedly moving towards the digitisation of services for the benefit of the citizens.
According to Sanjay Kumar, MD, Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation, the updated data of the buses of the Transport Corporation operating in all the areas is being received through the Android-based ticketing machine. Moreover, real-time important information including the number of passengers, and revenue collected is being made available to the headquarters on a regular basis.
He further informed that this step of the Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation is significant in providing all services to the citizens through digital means.
As informed by Mr Kumar, this has facilitated the operators working in the buses of the Transport Corporation as well as the employees working in the headquarters. Apart from improving the quality, transparency has also increased. It is noteworthy that the reservation facility has commenced in the general category buses of UP Roadways from November 01.
