Foot over-bridge collapsed at Ballarshah Railway Station in Chandrapur


Four injured critically


More than 20 people fell down along with the foot over bridge


More than 50 passengers were crossing the track at the time of accident



Chandrapur: More than 20 people injured, four of them seriously when a portion of the foot over-bridge, about 60 feet high, on Ballarshah Railway Station in Maharashtras Chandrapur district collapsed.

Railway sources said that the incident took place on Sunday evening.

According to the sources a portion in the middle of the over-bridge collapsed suddenly. About 20 people collapsed on the railway track.

More than 50 passengers passengers were crossing the track.

The passengers were moving from platform number 1 to 4 to catch Kazipeth-Pune Express,when the bridge collapsed on the railway track.

More than 20 passengers injuries, condition of four was stated to be  critical .

Meanwhile railway has announced an ex gratia Rs 1 lakh to the seriously injured and Rs 50,000 to those who sustained minor injuries.
