Lucknow: Expressing deep sorrow over the Rudraprayag (Uttrakhand) accident, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed the authorities to ensure proper treatment for the injured and adopt necessary safety measures. 

Yogi Adityanath also directed the Chief Minister’s Office and the Relief Commissioner’s Office to work in tandem with the local administration in the hour of the need. Following his instructions, a team of senior officials from Saharanpur was dispatched to Rudraprayag.

Extending his condolences to the bereaved families and expressing his grief on platform X, Yogi Adityanath wrote, “The loss of lives in a road accident in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand is very sad and unfortunate. My condolences are with the bereaved families. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to grant salvation to the departed souls and speedy recovery to the injured."

As it is, a vehicle carrying pilgrims from Gurugram to Tungnathn met with a tragic accident near Raintoli in Rudraprayag on Saturday. The vehicle plunged approximately 200 meters off the highway into a deep gorge. By late evening, it was reported that 14 people had died, including some from Delhi-NCR (Noida), Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, 5 individuals are seriously injured and 7 have sustained minor injuries.

Meanwhile, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Dhami has ordered an inquiry into the accident.
